WINTER I : JANUARY 2 - FEBRUARY 10, 2012

FREE FITNESS CLASSES FOR Y MEMBERS
We are now offering FREE land-based Fitness Classes to our members.
Class sizes are limited. Stop by the front desk for more information.
A fitness card must be presented at each class.

MEMBERS: FREE    NON-MEMBERS: $35
Daily Pass Rates (Non-member): Youth $4, Adult $8, Family $12

Unless otherwise marked, classes meet in the downstairs multi-purpose room.

TAY PONG DO MARTIAL ARTS
If you are looking to improve your overall well-being, stamina, strength, flexibility, discipline, and build your confidence, a variety of martial arts will fit your needs. Master Meril Taylor has been in martial arts for almost 30 years and teaching/instructing since 1990.

Classes begin January 9 for six weeks.

Age Divisions:
8-10 years: 5:00-6:00 p.m. Monday and Wednesday
11-17 years: 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday and Wednesday
18 and over: 7:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and Wednesday

Cost: $30 members and $60 all others
Additional Fees: Gi, belt, patch, tests for advancement

YMCA INVITATIONAL

Sign up now for a 2-man scramble hosted by the YMCA. Each team will be paired with another, and the tournament begins on Friday. After play, teams are divided into flights with play to continue on Saturday and Sunday (within Y hours of operation).

Entry fee: $25 per team
Deadline to sign up: Monday, January 16, 2012
Tournament begins: January 16, 2012

ADULT COED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

  • YMCA south gym
  • Mondays and Wednesdays
  • January 11 through March 14 (10 weeks)
  • Cost: $75 per team (payment must be received in full at time of registration)
  • Roster, forms and rules available by contacting Matt Jones.
  • Teams play 9-week season followed by double elimination tournament during 10th week.
  • T-Shirts given to tournament winners.
  • Registration Deadline: January 5, 2012

The YMCA organization started in Chillicothe in 1989 but 2007 will be the 15th year for the YMCA building. The biggest change since 1992 when the doors first opened, has been in 1999 when the Browning Gymnasium was added, along with a gymnastics center, activities center and weight room.

This body focused toning is alternated with cardio bursts. Toning segment sculpts and defines while the cardio segments feature step, floor, stability ball, and more to increase your stamina and get you moving.

Forty-five minutes of dance style aerobics, strength ,and stretching exervcises set to encouraging and uplifting music. Low impact options available for all fitness levels. Join us for an energizing start to your day.

Golf Simulator

If you haven't been to see the golf simulator, you are missing out. We'll take you through a short orientation, and you'll be ready to swing. With its second-to-none features and its state-of-the-art technology, it will be like you are on the green. But, you don't get rained on. It's located upstairs in the newly constructed cardio and free weight area.

Cost by the hour: $1.00 per hour for members / Non-Members $4.00/hour and must be accompanied by a member who has been through the orientation

There is no cost for the 45-minute orientation.

Transitions Lifestyle System

The Transitions Lifestyle System is a simple, complete approach to weight management focusing on diet, behavior modification, and body composition, helping you look good, feel good and get the most out of life. This is not a diet - it is a lifestyle system designed to help you lose weight and keep it off for life.

Zumba

Take salsa, cha-cha, samba, meringue, add hints of flamenco, calypso, hip-hop, and belly dancing, put in a workout routine, and you have Zumba! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms tone your body while burning fat. So get ready to join the party!

AM Circuit - 2 Days a Week

Aerobic callisthenic and kickbox drills alternate with strength intervals to burn and firm. One minute cardio segments will get your heart pumping to help burn fat, while the one-minute muscle conditioning segments strengthen and sculpt your body. Class will end with abdominal blast.

Silver Sneakers

Silver Sneakers I - Muscular Strength and Range of Movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Lifestyle Assessments
Get a fitness test to evaluate your cardio respiratory fitness, body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance. The test involves a bench step test, sit and reach test, half sit up test, bench press, and skinfold measures to calculate percentage of body fat. A program will be set up for you as a result of your testing.

Fee: $20 (Members only)

The YMCA Multi-Purpose Room is available for rent on a limited basis.
It is equipped with a kitchen, tables and chairs. Available for business, social,

Health Fair at the YMCA

Lock-Ins
Your school group, church, or youth organization can rent the YMCA for Lock-Ins on either Friday or Saturday nights. Cost is $5 per student; there is a minimum charge of $225 & and a maximum charge of $450.00. The facility is available from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The renting group must provide chaperones and proof of insurance. Advance registration is required. Call Dave Rogers at 660-646-6677 or email him to schedule a lock-in.
