Program Information
Your YMCA Gymnastics Program is based on the National YMCA Progressive Gymnastics Program and the USA Junior Olympic Gymnastics Program. This program is designed for children to have fun while learning gymnastics skills - and, lifetime skills such as goal setting, safety, self-discipline, and self-confidence. We also try to instill the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

What should my child wear? If your child is in the preschool gymnastics program, he or she should wear comfortable clothes like sweats, shirts, and leggings or leotards. Children will go barefoot in class. Avoid wearing jewelry, tie hair back when possible. Children in progressive or competitive gymnastics need to wear leotards. Leotards are available in all sizes at the Gymnastics Pro Shop located in the Gymnastics Center at the YMCA. Leotard skirts and tights with feet are a safety hazard and are not allowed for Progressive classes.
Where are the calendars and important notices posted? Calendars and important information for childrens gymnastics, competitive gymnastics, and progressive gymnastics are posted at the bulletin board outside the Gymnastics Center director's office door. Please pick up a calendar each month. The calendar lists important meeting times for parents, class changes, and holiday schedules.
How do I stay informed about my child? By coming to the bi-monthly Parents Gymnastics Information (PGI) meetings. This is where you can ask about your child's progress, the class focus, and become involved in events and programs.
What if I miss a class? What is "Flying Free Time?" Every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. is "Flying Free Time." This is an hour when you can come make up a class or come for additional practice. To make up a class, go to the front desk for a free voucher. For extra practice, the cost is just $1.

Payment Information
Come to the front desk and pay the class fee for either one month or three months. Classes run for one month at a time and continue each month. You save money if you pay for three months at a time.
