The minute the Grand River Area Family YMCA opened its doors on November 1, 1992, it became the most popular spot in town. With a population of 8,500 people, Chillicothe and the surrounding communities in north central Missouri built a $2.5 million, 34,000 square foot facility, adding 13,288 square feet in January, 1999, and expanding again in 2008, and celebrating our 20th anniversary on 11/01/2012.
