The YMCA Fitness Center offers a wide variety of cardio and weight training equipment, such as treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, free weights, Cybex strength training, and more. Our trained Fitness Center Staff will take you on a guided tour of the cardio and weight rooms, show you how to operate various pieces of equipment and explain what you need to know to help you feel comfortable utilizing the Fitness Center. Free for Y members.

Our fitness center and track area are open during Y hours to individuals 14 years and older.  Children may walk on the track with a parent every evening from 7-8 pm.  For their safety, children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the weight room or on any of the cardio and weight training equipment.  Youth ages 12-13 interested in using the fitness center may participate in our Youth Orientation program.  Visit our Youth Sports and Fitness page for additional information.

Personal Fitness Program

Want to take things a little slower.  A personal fitness program offers you the same benefits of a weight orientation over a 12-week period.  During three one-one-one consultations, you learn to utilize both cardio and strength training equipment in your own lifetime fitness program. Over a 12-week period, you will learn to use the equipment with one-on-one consultations.  Personal Fitness Programs are free to all YMCA members. For more information or to schedule an appointment, email Vicky Burns, Fitness Director, at vburns@ncmymca.org or call the Y at (660) 646-6677.

Lifestyle Assessments

Wondering how fit you really are?  Get a fitness test to evaluate your cardio respiratory fitness, body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance. The test involves a bench step test, sit and reach test, half sit up test, bench press, and skinfold measures to calculate percentage of body fat. Following your test, you will be given a fitness program based on your results.   Lifestyle Assessments are for Y members only.  The fee is $20.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, email Vicky Burns, Fitness Director, at vburns@ncmymca.org or call the Y at (660) 646-6677.
