t-ball and coach Pitch

Baseball is America's favorite past-time, and there's no better place to learn to play than at the YMCA, where sportsmanship and teamwork are always practiced.

At the Grand River Area Family YMCA, we offer youth baseball in two formats: T-Ball for children ages 4-6 years and Coach Pitch for children ages 7-9.  T-ball and Coach Pitch are exciting activities combining team play and individual skills.  They are designed to teach young baseball players the fundamentals of the game including catching, throwing, and batting in a fun team atmosphere with no try outs, no getting cut and no bench warmers!

Leagues

Our T-Ball and Coach Pitch Leagues organize children into parent/volunteer coached teams.  As part of a T-Ball or Coach Pitch team, your child will learn how to throw, catch, field and hit correctly, and the positions of the game while focusing on team work and fair play.  Each participant receives a team t-shirt.  Children must have a glove to play, and cleats are helpful but not mandatory.
